A little lovebird named Peck has been on a long journey to find love. His next stop is the big land of Africa where he encounters many animals who show him kindness and point him in the right direction. Thanks to the help of his new pals, Peck finds exactly what his heart was seeking.

 MY TIDBITS

With lots of love and new friendships, this cute bird learns a little more about Africa on the way.
Peck is a little lovebird on a journey to find love. Luckily, he has a friend to fly him across the ocean (his wings are very small), and there learns a little more about Africa while meeting a few new friends along the way. He might even find what he's looking for in this exciting place.

Peck is simply cute. His energy and adorableness radiates from every page, not only thanks to the lovely text but also the illustrations. This book invites younger readers with joyful characters in the bright illustrations and is sure to have them flipping through on their own. The text is a little heavy for the youngest listeners and even makes a great read for beginning readers who are a little more sure of themselves.

Basic information about Africa trickles into a fun tale. It's nothing too deep but does give a first glance at the continent.

I haven't read the other books in this series but would advise doing so. While this book isn't too hard to pick up and read as a stand alone, it seems to be a continuation of Peck's journey and builds from the other picture books in the series.

This sounds like a cute book. I like the idea of learning about new lands through the eyes of a little lovebird. My grandmother used to keep lovebirds, and she really doted on them. They made great pets for her.
