Happy Book Birthday, Kids Love to Stich by June McCrary Jacobs with Giveaway!

KIDS LOVE TO STITCH: BOOK 1
PICNIC PROJECTS
by June McCrary Jacobs
Children's Crafts

This is June's first book in her new sewing skill series for children!

This 'Kids Love to Stitch' sewing book was written for children ages 7 to 12.
In the book, readers will learn how to:

-- Make a sewing kit;
-- Reuse materials found around the house to make a project;
-- Work with acrylic craft felt;
-- Make patterns;
-- Cut out project pieces using patterns;
-- Sew a Running Stitch, make simple buttonholes, and sew on a button; and
-- Stay safe while sewing.

To make these patterns user-friendly for children around the world, all patterns
include the measurements in Imperial and Metric. The instructions for these
two Picnic Projects include detailed cutting and sewing instructions with
stepped-out photos to aid readers as they learn to sew. There is a Glossary
of sewing terms used in the book.

Project One, a 'Picnic Pouch', is a festive felt pouch/pocket decorated with
a star applique and buttons. Perfect for holding party favors, treats, goodies,
or tableware (napkin, fork, spoon, and knife) for a party or picnic.

Project Two, 'TIC-TAC-TOE Game & Storage Bag' features a felt game
board, X and O game pieces, and a felt storage bag. Perfect for fun-on-
the-go for a camping trip, outdoor adventure, car or airplane trip, or poolside
party.

The book includes a link to download and print the patterns included in the book.

And here she is...

June McCrary Jacobs's original sewing, quilting, and stitchery designs
have been published in over one hundred and twenty books and
magazines and on sewing industry blogs in the past decade-plus in
the United States and the United Kingdom. This is June's seventh
sewing pattern book published in the Kindle Store, and it is her first
sewing pattern book written for children!

June began sewing by hand at the age of eight when she learned how
to sew a button to a scrap of fabric. She moved on to hand-embroidery
and hand-stitching clothes and blankets for her dolls and stuffed
animals soon after.

June took knitting lessons when she was ten and began knitting stocking
caps and slippers for her customers—mostly family members, friends,
and neighbors—to earn money for her creative endeavors and other
activities.

When she was eleven, June's Grandma McCrary taught her how to
make a dress, step-by-step, using her grandma's 1967 Brother sewing
machine. In junior high and high school, June took every sewing class
offered at school. She has not stopped stitching by hand and on her
machines ever since.

In addition to designing and sewing original designs, June enjoys
writing Christian romance books and stories for adults. In 2019,
she published a historical adventure for middle-grade students.

June enjoys reading, writing, blogging, hand-embroidery, cooking,
walking, visiting art and history museums, and touring historic
homes and gardens.
