Has the rainy day got you down?
Not feeling fancy in your gown?

Just add glitter!

It all starts with a mysterious mail delivery, a little girl with a big imagination, and a sprinkling of twinkling glitter. Before long there’s glitter here, glitter there—glitter, glitter EVERYWHERE! But just when she’s about to add more glitter, the little girl realizes maybe there is such a thing as too much bling when you and your best pal start to get lost in it…

From beloved author Angela DiTerlizzi and illustrator Samantha Cotterill comes a silly and sweet story that celebrates imagination, creativity, and knowing when enough is enough—or is it?!

 MY TIDBITS

After reading this book, it's clear that the world actually can be brighter and more cheerful with a bit of glitter.

Boring, drab and depression are anything but cheery, but there's an easy fix. Sprinkle glitter, and everything becomes brighter instantly. Glitter here. Glitter there. As the little girl sprinkles glitter in all corners she can find...in heaps and bounds...another question comes to light. A little glitter adds joy. But what happens when there are mountains of it?

After reading this book with my kids...who thought it was super cute and were left with smiles on their faces...my shoved it in front of my husband for a peek. Despite his usual non-glitter urges, he was already smiling a couple pages into the book. And that's exactly what this book does—radiates smiles and glee. Watching the character sprinkle glitter here and there, doesn't only make her own world sparkle but demonstrates how something so simple can really brighten the day.

When it comes to the illustrations, one word is key—glitter. As if the very cheerful character and her dog didn't radiate enough fun and joy, glitter glistens on every page. The illustrations are a lovely mix of realistic and art, giving it an original feel while letting the story come to life. And there's no way to escape the glitter.

This is simply a lovely read. The message is clear, and actually has a wonderful twist at the end to make young listeners/readers feel good about themselves. It's a book which evokes smiles and will raise the desire for glitter in life, and recognize how wonderful something so small can be.
