"A beautifully-illustrated snowy day tale, with added instructions for kids to make a craft and recipe from the story. Fun boredom-busting entertainment." - Melinda Kinsman, Children's Book Author and Illustrator

MY TIDBITS

Boredom doesn't have a chance with these three triplets in this short tale, which offers several great activities along with the story fun.

Maggie, Millie, and Merrie are thrilled that Christmas break is finally there. Each already has a list of things they'd like to do, too. Unfortunately, the wonderful snow piling up on the ground also means that Grandma won't be coming to visit. The three are very disappointed until a strange package arrives at the door.

These three girls are a delight! Their close relationship is heart-warming, and their interactions put a smile on the face. They are full of life and exactly the kind of girls readers will wish they had living next door. The family situation is wholesome, which comes across more than clear in the positive actions and attitude of the mother. Add the twist of the clever idea of the box...and slight mystery...and it's a short but very entertaining read, either as a read-aloud or for those who are feeling a little more sure of their words.

But this isn't just a story. The authors builds in several, simple craft ideas, which add to the fun. Each one is accompanied with clear instructions, and the materials are items often found in the household. There's even an easy recipe...because crafting is so much more fun when there's something to nibble on the side.

It's a wonderful book, especially for moments when readers might have more time on their hands. Even home-schoolers will appreciate this read.
